Dan Orlovsky Makes A Clear Statement About Josh Allen

The Buffalo Bills didn’t start the season on a high note.

They lost a game they should’ve won, facing a New York Jets team that didn’t have Aaron Rodgers on the field.

Josh Allen wasn’t particularly at his best, throwing three interceptions and losing one of two fumbles.

Unsurprisingly, that has led to some major criticism over the past couple of days, which is why former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky believes it’s time someone sits down with him.

In the latest edition of ESPN’s Get Up, Orlovsky urged someone to look Allen dead in the eye and ask him to grow up.

Allen is pressing and trying to do too much or make a statement on every single dropback, and that’s costing his team more often than not.

Nonetheless, as bad as Allen has been because of his erratic decision-making, Orlovsky also went in his defense by stating that some of the criticism has been ‘absolutely ludacris.’

Orlovsky also called him a top-three quarterback in the NFL and stated that the Bills can definitely win a Super Bowl with him at the helm.

Allen has all the skills and physical traits to be a perennial MVP candidate, and saying that the Bills can’t win with him is a huge reach.

Likewise, he’s also been the reason why they’ve lost games they should’ve won, and it’s time he realizes he’s not doing his team any favors.

Former Toronto FC coach Bob Bradley rejoins Norwegian club side Stabaek

OSLO — Former Toronto FC coach Bob Bradley, fired in June by the MLS club, has returned to Norwegian club side Stabaek.

The team said the 65-year-old Bradley has signed at least through the end of the year.

Bradley originally joined Stabaek in 2014 after being let go as manager of Egypt.

He spent two seasons in charge, helping Stabaek qualify for the Europa League before leaving in November 2015 to take over France’s Le Havre.

Stabaek, which is based in the Oslo suburb of Baerum, currently stands 15th in the 16-team Norwegian top flight at 4-11-4. The club parted ways with coach Lars Bohinen last week.

Bradley was fired as TFC’s head coach and sporting director June 26 with the team languishing in 14th place in the MLS Eastern Conference at 3-7-10. It had won just two of its last 17 matches (2-7-8) in all competitions.

Bradley, a three-time MLS coach of the year whose son is TFC captain Michael Bradley, took charge of Toronto in November 2021. His record with the club was 14-26-19.

Toronto appointed Terry Dunfield as interim coach before naming Canada coach John Herdman as Bradley’s permanent replacement.

Herdman takes over Toronto (4-13-10) on Oct. 1.

The Hawks celebrate their title success

A masterclass from Callum Flynn and George Greenway led the Hawks to the Disability Premier League trophy at Derby.

The pair put on 112 for the third wicket to overhaul the Pirates’ total of 156-6 and see their team home by eight wickets with over two overs to spare.

The Pirates would have been relatively happy at the interval, their competitive total owing in no small part to Jake Oakes who smashed 39 from just 10 balls – including five sixes off the last over – but Flynn and Greenwood were relatively untroubled throughout their partnership.

Flynn, who was awarded Player of the Match for his fine unbeaten 83, said: “It’s been a good tournament for the boys. We’ve won six from seven, we’ve only lost one group game, we took momentum into the final and we took the trophy home with us.

Callum Flynn was awarded Man of the Match

“We lost all the momentum in the final over of the first innings. It was actually kind of my idea to keep pace off the ball so I think I owed that to Alex [Hammond], to try and knock the runs off!

“The momentum swung all game, we had it all first innings and then lost it in that over but then we gained it back with the bat and kept our foot on their throat, took it to the Pirates, and won it with ease really.

“I think the DPL has been really good this year. It’s one of those tournaments where we’ll really see the development in four and five years’ time, when the lads and ladies start getting into international squads. In terms of instant success we’re getting there but in three, four or five years’ time, who knows where this could go. The money the ECB have put into it, and the backing they’ve given us, has been excellent.

“We can’t thank them enough for giving us a stage like this. Many years ago, disabled athletes didn’t get occasions like this – now we’re breaking down barriers and hopefully we keep breaking them down.”

آس 90 : Final Standings Prediction for 2023-2024 NFL Season

Final Standings Prediction for 2023-2024 NFL Season

سایت ace90
سایت آس نود
سایت آس90

It’s that time again. The NFL season is about to kick off a new season and as I’ve done for many years, I sat down with the entire NFL schedule for this forthcoming season and looked at every game from week one to the last game of the season. With each and every game I picked a winner for the game. When I got to the final game, I tallied up the wins and losses and ahead you will see what I have for the final standings and who wins each division.

Keep in mind, these predictions were solely from my gut. These standings are not based on any stats because obviously we don’t have any yet with not a single regular season game played. Also, we have no idea who is going to, unfortunately, get injured, what players might underperform, and any in-game mistakes that take place which could change the outcome of a game.

I expect there will be fans that scoff at some of these predictions, and perhaps some of these final standings will be the actual results. I’m already prepared for New York Jets fans who will laugh at the projection of their team only winning five games. Yes, Aaron Rodgers has come to the Big Apple bringing a history of greatness with him, but Rodgers is absolutely past his prime in my opinion, and in my vision of the Jets, they just seem to have this aura around them that keeps them from being great. After all, they’ve only been to one Super Bowl and won that with Joe Namath at the helm, this back in 1969.

As you can see in my final predictions, it looks like the AFC North will be the NFL’s best division, a three-way race between defending division champions the Cincinnati Bengals, the Baltimore Ravens, and what should be a much-improved Pittsburgh Steelers squad.

Can the Steelers actually win 12 games? I believe they can with a bolstered offensive line, some key defensive players added, and a more experienced George Pickens who has everyone talking about him and his potential. The NFC South will probably be the worst division and I just can’t see any teams winning more than seven games. In the AFC, I believe the Kansas City Chiefs are the clear-cut favorites again and they don’t seem to have any real challengers that will test them and keep them from yet another Super Bowl. While I have Buffalo winning 12 games, I think their window of opportunity is closing fast. One of the surprising teams from last year was the Jacksonville Jaguars who I believe will continue to rise and there are murmurs of Trevor Lawrence competing for a league M.V.P. award.

The Indianapolis Colts have struggled in finding a replacement for Andrew Luck since he retired so they are throwing first-round draft pick Anthony Richardson into the fire as the opening-day QB. Since Tom Brady switched teams a few years back and went to Tampa, Bill Belichick’s teams have struggled. This might end up being one of his worst seasons ever as I have them finishing 5-12. The L.A. Chargers will be solid again but as indicated they are no match for Kansas City.

There is tons of pressure on the Dallas Cowboys and while they will be a winning team, I don’t think they are Super Bowl material just yet. The Giants were a surprise last season, but Daniel Jones just landed a huge contract, is he a Super Bowl-capable quarterback? I think not. It won’t surprise me if the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chiefs run it back in the Super Bowl this season, and I see the NFC as more competitive than the AFC.

I have the Arizona Cardinals being the worst team in the NFL winning just two games, so they can start the season looking ahead to the 2024 draft and the first overall pick. The Rams fell down last season and I don’t see them rising up again this year. Brock Purdy was a pleasant surprise in 2022 as the “Mr. Irrelevant” led San Francisco to the postseason so in 2023 we will find out if he truly is the real deal.

Out in Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers is gone so the Jordan Love era begins and it won’t be pretty as I have the Pack winning just six games. The Buccaneers will be the second-worst team in the league as I see them winning just four games. Some of the best Monday Night Football games to look forward to are:

  • September 11, opening night for the Buffalo Bills who will travel downstate to New Jersey and take on Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. Jets fans are holding their breath for this one in the hopes that in his first game, Rodgers does not play poorly.
  • October 16, Dallas at the L.A. Chargers. This could easily be a shootout between Dak Prescott and Justin Herbert.
  • November 6, the Chargers visit the Jets. By this time Aaron Rodgers should be comfortable in his new environment with his new team and the Jets are not winning games by now, their season may be shot.
  • November 20, Philadelphia at Kansas City. Super Bowl rematch and in Kansas City not on a neutral field, I can’t see the Chiefs losing.
  • December 4, Bengals at Jacksonville. This should be a barnburner between two excellent teams.
  • Christmas Day, Baltimore in San Francisco. A Christmas Day special that some could possibly see as a potential Super Bowl matchup.

Then there are the normal Thursday night matchups, and some key ones will be:

  • September 14, Minnesota at Philadelphia. The first Thursday nighter of the season and we will see if the Eagles can pick up where they left off from in 2022.
  • September 21, Giants at 49ers. San Francisco will be challenging the Eagles for the NFC crown and this poses a real test for the Giants to see where they are as one of the conference’s elite teams early in the season.
  • November 16, Cincinnati at Baltimore. As I said earlier the AFC North might be the NFL’s best division so any matchup in the North is a good one. This one is no exception.
  • November 24, Dolphins at Jets. This Thursday game is actually being played on Friday. They are calling it “Black Friday Football.” There is much hype for the Miami Dolphins this season and when this game arrives, we will know how far along each team is in their success for the 2023 campaign. What we should see is a very competitive game.
  • December 28, New York Jets at Cleveland. The final Thursday night game pits Deshaun Watson vs. Aaron Rodgers and what we might see is a Jets team preparing for the playoffs against a team whose season has gone down the tubes, or a New York team that once again was a major disappointment. This remains to be seen.

This season’s coverage of games will include games on YouTube TV, ABC, ESPN, and of course CBS and NBC for Sunday Night Football in America. How this season pans out remains to be seen but this might be one of the more highly anticipated seasons in years given some interesting draft picks from 2023, key players switching teams (ala Aaron Rodgers), and finding out how far above the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs are from every other team. Green Bay fans look forward to a different quarterback behind center after years with Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre before him.

So, without further ado, go ahead and scoff at the following division predictions, scratch your heads at some of the final records, or perhaps by chance say, yes, that is how I see some teams finishing. I am saving my playoff and Super Bowl predictions until the end of the season when we know who is in the big dance in the big dance.

Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves is receiving tons of praise after a very strong showing in a World Cup exhibition game against Team Germany.

Edwards’ 34 points helped the team climb out of a hole, score the win, and secure a 5-0 track record during their warm-up games.

Many people took notice of Edwards’ performance, including numerous analysts, countless fans, and head coach Steve Kerr.

Speaking on Twitter, Kendricks Perkins was blown away by Edwards.

“Ladies and Gentleman I think we may have found the FACE of the NBA!!! I believe his name is Anthony Edwards!” Perkins said.

That’s a lot of pressure being put on Edwards’ shoulders – can he handle it?

Obviously, he is well aware of what great expectations feel like.

Back in 2020, he was the number one pick in the NBA Draft.

He was immediately seen as the future face of the Timberwolves.

So far he has averaged 21.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game in his career.

That has earned him an All-Star selection and a spot on the 2020-21 All-Rookie Team.

But the Timberwolves haven’t become the dominant force in the West that some expected.

Even after the acquisition of Rudy Gobert last summer, the team still couldn’t make it far in the playoffs.

This had many people wondering what the future holds.

Some have even wondered how much longer Edwards will remain in Minnesota before he decides to try his luck with another squad.

Edwards may be on the verge of a hugely successful World Cup showing.

If that’s the case, he will be welcomed back to the Timberwolves in the fall as a hero.

Will that raise his profile even more in the NBA?

More importantly, will it help his team’s chances of having a good season that doesn’t end at the start of the playoffs?

آس 90 : Estimating the cost of Bichette’s absence from Blue Jays’ lineup

Estimating the cost of Bichette’s absence from Blue Jays’ lineup

سایت ace90
سایت آس نود
سایت آس90

When the Toronto Blue Jays acquired Paul DeJong at the trade deadline, the hope was that he could raise the team’s floor at the shortstop position until Bo Bichette’s return from a knee injury.

Unfortunately for the Blue Jays, DeJong has produced the worst offensive stretch of his seven-year MLB career since joining the team.

Instead of closing the gap between the team’s existing backup shortstop options and Bichette — albeit by a fairly modest degree — DeJong has created a massive gulf between what the Blue Jays could’ve reasonably expected from their star shortstop and what they’ve gotten from the position lately.

Since Bichette’s last game on July 31, the Blue Jays have gotten a .115/.115/.135 line from their shortstops, good for a -43 wRC+. Unsurprisingly, that’s the worst number in the majors over that span with the 29th-ranked team — the Miami Marlins — producing a 9 wRC+.

In terms of raw production, Toronto has gotten six hits (five singles and a double), two runs, and three RBI from the position in more than half of a month. Those measures don’t perfectly capture offensive contributions, but here’s a comparison between them and what Bichette — who plays essentially every day when healthy — has averaged over the same number of games (15) in 2023.

At the very least the Blue Jays have probably missed out on a couple of runs via the long ball, and considering where Bichette hits in the lineup it seems fair to assume 14 more hits would’ve translated to a few more runs here and there.

If we want to get a bit more specific on that, there are two other ways to approach it. One would be via WAR. The differences between Bichette and DeJong vary depending on which WAR formula you use, and Santiago Espinal’s limited time at short in recent weeks is too small a sample to spit out a WAR total.

That means we’re estimating a bit here, but it still gives us a sense of what Toronto has lost.

Whichever way you slice it you’re looking at 1.4 wins or approximately 14 runs. You can probably shave 0.1 or so off of that for Espinal, but we’re still looking at more than one win in the standings by overall production.

Another way to tackle this comparison would be to look at win probability added. That statistic doesn’t always paint an accurate picture of a player’s true talent, but it captures contribution to winning and that’s what we’re looking at here.

Since joining Toronto, DeJong’s WPA sits at -0.84. Meanwhile Bichette has generated approximately +0.19 per 15 games this season. That’s a difference of 1.04 wins, but Espinal’s contributions are easier to gauge here and his two strong games at short between Aug. 10 and Aug. 12 resulted in +0.30 WPA, putting the difference down to 0.74, or about three quarters of a win.

There is no perfect way to capture the difference between a star shortstop and a struggling fill-in over such a small period of time — especially without considering defence, which is borderline unquantifiable in such a small sample.

Even so, it seems fair to assume that Bichette’s absence has cost Toronto approximately one game in August. Considering the Blue Jays have taken three one-run losses in his absence, the right distribution of his hits might’ve made an even more pronounced difference.

We don’t know exactly what he would’ve done when, but we do know with almost ironclad certainty that he would’ve given Toronto more than it’s gotten since the beginning of August.

Just one victory is a massive difference considering a player who generates a win above replacement every 15 games is almost certain to win MVP. The bar was lower than replacement level for Bichette, but the fact it’s reasonable to ascribe that big an impact to his absence shows how good he’s been this season.

With the Blue Jays sitting just one game ahead of the Seattle Mariners in the battle for the last spot in the American League wild-card race, it’s clear the team needs Bichette back. The Blue Jays’ postseason fate could easily come down to a game or two, and their star shortstop’s absence has already taken a tangible toll.

The Unexpected Resurgence of Aroldis Chapman

The Cuban Missile has risen from troubles of Yankee Stadium to newfound success in fresh threads.

The 2021 and 2022 seasons saw Chapman have the two worst seasons of his career. A far cry from his record-breaking, All-Star level dominance that has developed Chapman into a baseball icon.

In those two seasons, Chapman recorded a career-worst in (Walks and Hits Per Inning Pitched) WHIPs of (1.31, 1.43) and walk rate percentage (15.6%, 17.5%), and in 2022, posted a career-high 4.46 ERA.

Nevertheless, Chapman finished ninth in the majors in 2021 with 30 saves on 36 opportunities as the Yankees finished with a 92-70 record.

In 2022, Chapman only had nine save opportunities due to injuries such as an Achilles tendinitis and an infection from a tattoo. Subsequently, losing the closer role to All-Star Clay Holmes.

The Yankees left Chapman’s name off the postseason roster after missing a team workout. It was obvious that his time in the Bronx was over.

Sure enough, the seven-time All-Star signed with the Kansas City Royals in the 2023 off season.

This season with the Royals, Chapman made 31 appearances with two saves in four opportunities. In 29 1/3 innings, Chapman lowered his ERA to 2.45.

On June 30, the Royals shipped Chapman to the Texas Rangers for LHP Cole Reigns and OF Toni Cabrera.

Kansas City has been at the bottom of their division, meanwhile, Texas has been contenting with the defending World Series Champions, Houston Astros for the top spot in the AL West.

Since the trade to Texas, Chapman has been solid. In seven appearances, the 35-year-old has one save and allowed zero runs.

After leaving New York, Chapman has improved on his mechanics under new coaching.

The Cuban has increased the velocity on each of the pitches in his arsenal such as four-seam fastballs, sliders, sinkers, and split finger pitches. Across the four pitches, the average velocity last season was 92.8 mph, this season it’s 94.7 mph.

An increase in velocity has made Chapman’s pitches nearly unhittable. Chapman’s four-seam fastball average of 99.8 mph ranks as the fourth highest in baseball.

Chapman has been elite in making batters miss, as he has the second-highest whiff rate at 44.3%.

One reason why is Chapman has one of the longest pitching strides in baseball, resulting in the pitch being released closer to the plate than 94% of the pitchers.

As a Ranger, Chapman’s WHIP is an impressive 0.42, which is much longer than 1.07 last season with the Yankees.

On July 15, Rangers’ manager Bruce Boch announced that Chapman will share closer responsibilities with Will Smith. A season long competition between the two will likely determine the primary closer leading into the postseason.

Currently, Texas is atop of the AL West standings and expected to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Expect to see Chapman, the co-league leader in strikeout percentage continue to emerge and tout the mound in the ninth inning for the Rangers moving forward.
